The Brief.
Cyberstart is a game aimed at young adults, providing them with cyber security training through real-world hacking challenges and puzzles.
My role was to design and maintain an illustration system in order to produce content and assets for product design and marketing campaigns.

The Illustration system
A neat solution
I designed and illustrated an illustration system in Sketch that would house multiple different illustration libraries, from buildings and locations to characters.
It saved time and created consistency when creating bespoke new levels for the game to marketing campaigns with special characters, and requests switching from digital to print designs were easily accommodated.

Size and use of colour remained the same across all four libraries, even though everything had distinct themes to distinguish bases easily.

Moon Base - Inspired by 60s sci-fi magazines.

Volcano Base - with industrial style furniture and a darker underground aesthetic.

Forensics Base - a Sherlock Holmes inspired theme with a London townhouse in mind.

Character builder
I developed and designed them in Sketch, using symbols to simulate an avatar builder. Firstly, the symbol character builder meant distinct characters could be made quickly. Secondly, CyberStart could introduce an avatar builder feature into the game and the Sketch version would be proof of concept that it could be done.
