Sound Escapes
Client: Birdnote
Art Director: Mark Bramhill
Role: Illustrator
The brief.
The aim of the project was to create a cover that captured the essence of BirdNote's new podcast series called Sound Escapes.
The art director wanted an image that would tell the story of the podcast, transporting listeners to a world of diverse birds from various regions across the globe.
The process.
The goal was to transport the viewer to another land, to provide an escape. I also had to showcase the variety of birds the podcast would feature.
I used different metaphors during my sketching process. Then the idea struck me, what better way to whisk someone away than by creating a landscape that lets the jungle sit next to the desert? This is how I decided to illustrate a landscape panorama spanning different geographies, from savannahs to rolling hills.
