The brief.
The project needed a series of covers for a set of textbooks called WonderWorks.
The covers would include a series of landscapes, with a hero animal and other creatures native to that environment.
The process.
It was a dream project to draw such a wide range of landscapes and animals. Not just daytime but nighttime compositions too, even one for outer space.
There were a few constraints that made the project a good challenge. Each cover had a set layout for where the text needed to go, and each grade had a colour theme that I had to work into the landscape and animals. All the while making sure the covers looked like a cohesive set.
I organised layered and flattened PSDs so the McGraw Hill artwork team could create covers and assets to fit the cover formats.
