The brief.
Flight of Fancy is a section in Elite Traveller magazine that recommends experiences and destinations to visit and experience. The art director often wants scenes at night, which are hard to capture in CYMK print.
The process.
Nighttime illustrations are always hard to create. It's a delicate balancing game colour-wise. Paint an atmospheric composition that works on RGB screens that might turn out too dark in print, overcompensate and go too bright, and won't read as nighttime.
It's been a fun learning curve drawing night scenes - practice makes perfect!
